2nd year at DCI in USA for Liberty Member

18 year old Liberty member, Elliott Barnes-Ward, has spent the Summer in America playing trumpet with Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps from Nashua, New England. Elliott moved out to America at the beginning of June, spent his initial weeks learning Spartans Drum & Bugle Corps 2019 show, Experiment X, and has since been travelling to compete across 10 states. The tour reached its climax in Marion, Indiana where Spartans became Champions in the World Open Class Championships, leading the way from organisations such as from Gold (California) and Legends (Michigan).
Elliott joined Liberty when he was 9 years old, and in his first year he took part in just some of the show. We are extremely proud of his achievements and were cheering him on watching the live feed together before rehearsal on Thursday.
This is Elliott's second year with the 130 strong corps and once again he has isn't the only Brit in the corps. Last year Liberty's Ruby Willis performed alongside him in the colour guard...this year Isabella Smith from our good friends at Mayflower winterguard performed in the colour guard too. Elliott travelled back to the UK to rejoin Liberty, and returned to playing Mellophone for the second half of our season...where he will bring back his experiences to help develop and shape our own corps. Congratulations Elliott!
