Liberty's 2019 season starts at Indoor Music Games in Nottingham
Liberty have started their season a little earlier this year. The corps took part in the Indoor Music Games competition held last weekend at Trinity School in Nottingham.
Liberty performed their opener "The Impossible Dream" and the percussion feature "Construction" from their 2019 show "The American Dream". The show opens with a group of European immigrants arriving at Ellis Island, New York in early 1900s. Each subsequent section of the show focuses on the different generations of descendants.
Liberty are marching a much younger corps this year and all members are aged 11- 18 years. Saturday saw 7 new members take their first steps on the competition floor. Despite some first-show nerves we were really pleased to get the first part of the show onto the floor. And even more delighted to come away from the event as Youth Champions!
Our next outing is at the Indoor Music Games show in Basildon in a couple of weeks, when we hope to have the first half of the show completed and ready for a great performance.
